Madsen, Pete (Trombone)

madsen-trombone-smile.jpeg Pete Madsen has been the coordinator of jazz studies and trombone teacher at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) since 2000. As a freelance musician, he has performed with the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, the Omaha Big Band, the Omaha Brass Ensemble, and the Omaha Symphony. Pete can be heard on the Chase Music Group Label with the Jim Widner Big Band on the CDs Out of This World and The Beat Goes On, with the Continental Trombone Quartet on Albany Records, and with Connor Oberst on his critically acclaimed Upside Down Mountain CD on Nonesuch Records. Pete is an artist/clinician for the Getzen Company and has presented and performed at the Midwest Clinic, the Jazz Education Network Conference, the American Trombone Workshop, the South American Trombone Festival, and the China Trombone Festival. He resides in Omaha, Nebraska, with his wife Lee, son Christian, and daughter Ashleigh.
